Identity, 2025
Borosilicate Glass, Red Thread
“Identity” is an interpretation
of my own existence, mimicking
traditional Latvian women’s
beaded fabric crowns, worn for
special occasions, I created my
own out of glass that I am unable
to wear due to it’s separation. On
it, are symbols of the four areas
which I spent most of my life in,
size representing time. Thus,
whilst I may technically count as
a Latvian, my identity is
fragmented and my cultural
existence is broken.
